HBO's highly anticipated prequel series, "House of the Dragon," will return for its second season on June 16. The series, which premiered in August 2022, is a prequel to the popular fantasy drama "Game of Thrones" and follows the civil war among the Targaryen family.
The first season of "House of the Dragon" ended with the Targaryen dynasty on the brink of collapse. Season 2 will continue the story of the civil war, known as the "Dance of the Dragons," and explore the events that lead to the downfall of the Targaryens.
The announcement of the release date was made by HBO Max on Tuesday. The eight-episode second season will air on Sundays at 9 PM ET on HBO and HBO Max.
